The Red River

The chromatic colour and black barren land may appear to resemble that of a volcanic landscape, however this is a river in Sudbury, Ontario in Canada. This ‘Red River’ is the result of a nearby nickel factory, where the excess iron has seeped into the water and produced this deep red colour.  Despite it’s fascinating hue this river is sadly an image of industrial pollution, where the contaminated water has prevented any life from growing in the rivers surroundings.
