Life By the Drop: Farming After the Water is Cut Off

The drought of 2011 forced Texans to take a hard look at the state’s water resources. But in many ways the crisis just underlined a scarcity that was already looming. Most Texans live in urban areas while much of the state’s water supply is found n rural areas, and most water goes to agriculture.

This installment of  the Colorado River to report on Texas water, visits a rice farm in Wharton County dealing with the aftermath of the great drought of 2011.
