‘Signs’
‘Signs’ is a 2002 film Starring Mel Gibson, created by M. Night Shyamalan. The plot revolves around Gibson’s character, a man whose faith is shaken after the loss of his wife, trying to keep his family together and protect them from an alien invasion. After the invaders compromise the security of his family home, Gibson is forced to fight for his, and their, survival. Ultimately the aliens are defeated by a resource that many of us take for granted, water. To Shyamalan’s aliens, water is like acid, burning them to death.
For humankind water is life, it is a necessary component to our survival. Yet it kills many people daily in areas of the world that don’t have access to a clean water supply or sanitation.
