‘Man Thing’ and ‘Swamp Thing’
‘Man-Thing’ and ‘Swamp-Thing’ are fictional characters created by comic book publishers Marvel and DC (respectively) in the 70’s. Both characters were created when a mixture of chemicals, magic and swamp vegetation combined to give birth to these monsters and environmental protectors.
‘Man-Thing’ roamed his Florida Everglades home for years protecting it from outside threats to both his natural habitat and also the lives of its inhabitants. He eventually joined the super teams, ‘The Legion of Monsters’ and most recently ‘The Thunderbolts’.
The creation, and subsequent leak of a ‘bio-restorative’ formula led to the emergence of the character ‘Swamp-Thing’ who then patrolled the Louisiana swamps, preventing any threats to his home. He has restored life to areas whose natural habitat has been destroyed due to industrialization and pollution, and has even killed anybody who has endorsed such actions.
Does our world require such monstrous guardians as these to prevent further environmental catastrophes across the Earth? You can help to protect the natural world by supporting groups such as Greenpeace.
